diving into the wreck by Adrienne Rich?
I have to read the poem above carefully. Then write an essay in which you discuss how such elements as language, imagery, metaphor, structure, speaker’s tone, and point of view convey meaning in the poem. I can’t seem to get it can anyone help me? THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
This is a wonderful poem from the early 1970s when women were beginning to assert their rights and speak with strong independent voices.
Adrienne Rich was leader among the poets of the day. Her book, named the same as the poem, won her prizes.
Think about what it means to dive into a shipwreck. What would you see? What would you be looking for? What might you find, both good and bad? What would the dangers be, and what would the rewards be? Why would you do it?
